On Tuesday I tried went out with the intention of riding this same ride. Unfortunately, after 3 miles or so I realized that I had no energy. I couldn’t climb the first hill. It made me think that I wouldn’t be able to well on the Cure de Tour next weekend. I was trying to figure out why I had no energy on Tuesday and the only thing I could figure is that between all the time I spend playing the drums in Rock Band and the bicycle rides, that I hadn’t given my legs enough recovery time. So I took it easy the rest of the week and it definitely showed today. I had no problem climbing any of the hills and actually kept up a pretty good pace for the last 10 miles. So, I think I’ll take it easy the two days before the Tour de Cure.
Track 050
The first 5 miles were tough. It was very humid and I didn’t seemed to have any energy. Once I got to the top of the hill the ride was easier. We got rained on on the way back, which was nice actually since it cooled us off.
Track 047
Almost forgot about this ride because it was so short – just 9 miles.
Track 046

The original path of the trail.
Track 043
Rode to the end of the trail and back. The climb in that direction is starting to get an little bit easier.
Track 042
Got back on the bicycle after being out of town for a week. Barely got the ride in between rain storms. It’s been raining all day.
The ride was slow and easy – which is probably the pace that I will need to have to ride a full 100 Km next month.
Because of the rain, the creek had overflowed onto the trail. It wasn’t too bad, it just made the ride a bit more interesting.
