Tour de Cure Ride – 63 Miles! (a metric century)

This is the longest bike ride for me since I rode the MS150 in 1998. The first 30 miles were fairly easy, the next 25 miles were a bit tougher and the last 9 miles or so were a bitch. The morning wasn’t too bad because I had fresh legs and the temperature was in the 70s. As the day went on, it just got hotter. The last 9 miles or so was on the trail where there isn’t much shade and the temperature was in the mid 90s. At the end I just slowly climbed any up hill and then coasted down the other side.

In any case it’s nice to have set a goal and met it. I almost wussed out and rode the 33 mile ride but at the last minute I manned-up and went for the 63 mile one. (The idea of riding the 100 mile ride never crossed my mind)

Thanks to all the people who donated and helped me raise money for this ride:

Zbigniew Tyrlik, Todd Peer, Nancy McCollum, John Kozyn, William Swart, Gregory Piller, Dan Phelan, Michael Phillips and Lance MacNevin.
