Nice day for a ride. There were a lot of bikes out today.
Rode 15 miles today. It was a little bit chilly but otherwise the ride and the weather were good.
I only had about an hour before I was supposed to meet someone at the the gym. This was as much riding as I could get in. It was 90 degrees out. Pretty hot for the first week of April.
I decided to ride west from my house on the bike trail today. Normally this a challenging ride for me since it’s a long slow uphill for about 4 miles. Well, today it was much harder. The power company is putting in underground power lines (they have an easement on the trail), so the trail is detoured in all kinds of crazy ways. For people who aren’t familiar with the bike trail, it’s usually straight with very slight changes in elevation. On this detour, there are some 16% grades and the trail meanders back a forth. It would be interesting if I weren’t such an out-of-shape fatass. I had to walk my bike up a few sections.
The detour uses parts of the horse trail that parallels the regular trail, some local neighborhood streets and a few new sections.
I used Cycorder on my iPhone to take a video of the detour coming back. (west to east). I removed the sound because it was just wind noise. I added in a Queen song that was close to the same length as the video.
